Jacy Alpert

Jacy Alpert is an emerging costume designer from Boston, Massachusetts. She is currently working towards her BFA in Theatrical Design & Production with a concentration in costume design at Emerson College.

Jacy fell in love with theatrical costume design in high school. She spent her four years working in the costume department, where she learned both technical skills, and the impact that theatre can have, specifically, how passionate she felt being part of the costumes and larger theatre community. Jacy then spent one year studying fashion design where she gained deeper technical knowledge relating to garment construction and alteration.

 

Jacy has worked on numerous theatrical productions, short and feature length films, TV pilots, and commercials, with roles as a stitcher, dresser, costume designer, wardrobe stylist, and wardrobe manager and supervisor.

Jacy's core values are integral to her work in the costume department. She values collaboration and teamwork, leadership, building community, and art as a form of exploration and expression. She believes in always questioning the world around us, and using art as a form of doing so.

Outside of her costume design work, Jacy loves spending time in nature, doing yoga, reading, and spending time with her cat!
